PHPMaker 10 Demo Project File Released

For those of you who want to try Demo of I Love PHPMaker 10 on your own computer locally, now you can download it via this link. This Demo PHPMaker 10 Project file also can be used to test Masino Extensions 10 which you can download them from this link. I strongly recommend you to download and play with this project file since it will generate some new tables that related to the Extensions, such as for displaying Breadcrumb Links, Help Online, Application Settings (via Admin Panel), Multiple Themes, Timezone, and Multiple Languages setting records.

However, if you want to implement all of Masino Extensions for your new project using PHPMaker 10, then simply follow this post.

If you want to try the Demo project, then please make sure you have done the following steps after downloading that zip file in the first paragraph above:

  1. Install the latest version of PHPMaker 10 (currently as for version 10.0.2),
  2. Unzip the demo archive file above to any folder,
  3. Create the demo database in your MySQL server using the SQL script (demo10.sql from the demo10sql.zip file),
  4. Copy english_demo.xml and indonesian_demo.xml file to C:\Program Files\PHPMaker 9\languages folder,
  5. Download all the 11 (eleven) Extensions from this link (make sure you only download extensions for PHPMaker 10, and NOT for version 9.2.0), and then extract them to C:\Program Files\PHPMaker 10\extensions folder,
  6. Open or load the demo project file, demo10.pmp with PHPMaker,
  7. Change the connection info if necessary, click Tools-> Synchronize to update the project,
  8. Click on the Generate tab, change the destination folder to where you want to output the generated files,
  9. If you use your own PC as testing server, setup your testing web server (read Generate Settings -> Testing web server in the PHPMaker help file), check Browse after generation if you want PHPMaker to open your browser after generation,
  10. Adjust or simply remove the code inside Database_Connecting server event so that you will use the connection you defined at the step 7 above,
  11. Click the Generate button,
  12. When script generation is finished, upload the files to your testing server if necessary. Create a subfolder named uploads under your web folder, copy the images to the subfolder,
  13. Browse the website.

    Masino

I upgraded to 10.0.4 when it was released and then the login page was not displaying correctly. It looks like the CSS is missing. Everything is in a column along the left side of the page. I was hoping that your latest extension updates would solve the problem, but it’s still there. I did download and use the latest template from phpmaker as well.

Once I login, everything seems to be displaying correctly.

any idea what I may be doing wrong?

      Hi Keith,

Since 10.0.4, PHPMaker changed the form style from “form-horizontal” became “form-inline”. Not sure whether this will cause the issue you mentioned. However, if you use my latest extension, the Login form should be displayed properly, as you can see in my demo site: Demo of I Love PHPMaker v10.0.4.

    Masino

the demo files that I just downloaded do not include the font_name and font_size in the employees table nor the settings table.

Actually, those two new fields have been included in the table schema. Unfortunately, for the populated records, the values have not been included. I just fixed it. Please download the file again, and re-run demo10.sql file.

    Masino,

Sorry I meant the data, not the schema. You are correct. those elements were in the schema.

    Masino,

I know you’re getting tired of my questions, but…

    1. how do you get the links to show both text and icons?
    2. how do you get the themes to change when clicked? I have the themes menu and copied the “MenuItem_Adding” server event from your demo, but all I can get is the default.
    3. Basically, the same thing with the other items in your Settings menu.

I really do like the way your demo looks and want to use as much of it as possible.

And, yes, I know it’s something I’m doing wrong or not doing. As always, I appreciate your guidance.

      No worries. 🙂
      1. Use the related code in Page_Rendering server event.
      2. Did the theme change when you click on the other theme menu? Also, make sure you have regenerated all the script files, especially all the .php files which is called in “MenuItem_Adding” server event.
      3. Similar to answer #2 above.

Yep. Did that. I copied Page_Rendering and MenuItem_Adding from your demo project and added it to mine. Regenerated the entire project.

Does your web app use only one language (not multi-language)?

No. And sometimes after I click a new theme, I will be placed back at the home.php page.

If you are logged in as SysAdmin which does not have user profile in your users table, then each time you have just changed the theme, you will be redirected to the home.php page.

If you are logged in as user which has account in your users table, then you will be redirected to the last visited page.

I’m in as a user. And returning to the home page occurs sometimes when I click on a theme to change. If I click on a different theme 3-4 times, I get placed back at the home page.

              Problem resolved.

In your fontsize*.php, the Page_Main function is looking for IsSysAdmin()

In your other preference scripts, it is looking for IsAdmin || IssysAdmin

I removed the IsAdmin since the administrators have a record in the users table.

I think that all of the IsAdmin checks should be eliminated since they are users, too.
